Acquired by the British Museum in 1937.Bodleian Library, Oxford. Founded by Sir T. Bodley. In 1610 the Stationer's Company undertook to give the library a copy of every book printed in England. It received also important gifts of books and MSS from Laud, Cromwell, F. Junius, and Robert Burton. Other considerable accessions included Selden's library, in 1659, the Tanner, Rawlinson, Gough, Malone, and Douce collections of MSS, and many of the MSS of Locke in 1947.
