Wilde-Goose Chase, The, a comedy by J.
Fletcher, acted 1621, printed 1652.
Mirabell, the ‘wild goose’, a boastful Don Juan with an aversion to marriage, is ‘chased’ by Oriana, his betrothed, who tries various wiles to bring him to the altar. She feigns madness for love of him, but he sees through the pretence, and she finally traps him in the disguise of a rich Italian lady.
