Tomlinson, (Alfred) Charles (1927– ), poet and artist. His aspirations as a painter are reflected in the visual qualities of his verse. His volumes of verse include Relations and Contraries (1951), Seeing is Believing (US 1958; London 1960), The Way of the World (1969), Written on Water (1972), The Way In and Other Poems (1974), The Flood (1981), The Door in the Wall (1992), Jubilation (1995), Selected Poems (1997), and Vinyard Above the Sea (1997).
