Stuart, Daniel

Stuart, Daniel (1766–1846), journalist, and an early press baron, who in 1795 bought the Morning Post and in 1796 the Courier, raising both papers to importance by his management. He employed excellent writers, including Southey, Lamb, Wordsworth, and Coleridge.
