Stephen, James Kenneth (1859–92), younger son of Sir J. F. Stephen. He began a weekly paper, The Reflector, chiefly written by himself. He was author (as ‘J.K.S.’) of highly successful parodies and light verse, collected as Lapsus Calami and Quo Musa Tendis (both 1891). His promising career ended as a result of an accident in 1886 which slowly drove him insane, and he has been suggested as a candidate for the role of Jack the Ripper.
