North American Review

North American Review (1815–1939), a Boston quarterly, later monthly, review and one of the most distinguished of American periodicals. Its editors included C. E. Norton, J. R. Lowell, and H. Adams, and its contributors ranged from Emerson, W. Irving, Parkman, and Longfellow to H. James, Wells, and Twain. It then declined, and was revived again as a quarterly in 1963.
