New Monthly Magazine

New Monthly Magazine (1814–84), a periodical founded by Colburn in opposition to the Jacobin Monthly Magazine. Under T. Campbell, who became editor in 1821, much literary work of distinction appeared; among other distinguished editors were Bulwer-Lytton, Hood, and Ainsworth.
