Nairne, Carolina, Baroness, née Oliphant (1766–1845), was the author of many spirited Jacobite songs, including ‘Will ye no come back again?’ and ‘Charlie is my darling’; also of humorous and pathetic ballads, such as ‘The Land oapos; the Leal’. Her poems were collected in Lays from Strathearn (1846).
