Mermaid Series, the

Mermaid Series, the, a series of unexpurgated reprints of early English dramatists, published originally by Vizetelly, at the suggestion of Havelock Ellis. It became in 1964 the New Mermaid Series. The series now includes English plays from the late medieval period up to the time of Synge and Wilde.
