Lyones (also Liones and, in Malory's Morte D'Arthur, Lyonesse),

1. the sister of Lynet, imprisoned by Ironsyde in the Castle Perilous and freed by Gareth whom she marries;

2. in Malory, the region of origin of Tristram; Tennyson makes it the place of the last battle between Arthur and Mordred. It is traditionally said to be a tract of land between the Isles of Scilly and Land's End, now submerged.
