Lays of Ancient Rome

Lays of Ancient Rome, a collection of poems by Macaulay, published 1842, in which Macaulay deals with episodes from traditional Roman history (some taken from Livy), such as the defence of the bridge leading to Rome against the Tuscans (‘Horatius’); ‘The Battle of Lake Regillus’; and ‘Virginia’ (see Virginia).
