English Stage Company

English Stage Company, an organization founded in 1956 by George Devine (1910–66) to present modern plays and encourage new dramatists; its home was the Royal Court Theatre, London. It has produced important work by Osborne, Wesker, Arden, Bond, Beckett, and many others. (See also kitchen sink drama.)
