Double Dealer, The

Double Dealer, The, a comedy by Congreve, produced 1693, published 1694.

The promiscuous Lady Touchwood is in love with Mellefont, nephew and heir of Lord Touchwood. He rejects her advances, and she attempts to ruin his reputation, with the help of her one-time lover, Maskwell, the Double Dealer, whose intrigues are finally exposed.
