Christis Kirk on the Green, an old Scottish poem, doubtfully attributed to James I or James V of Scotland, in nine-line stanzas with a ‘bob’ after the eighth line, descriptive of the rough fun, dancing, and love-making of a village festival or ‘wappinshaw’. Two additional cantos were composed by Ramsay.
