Christ and Satan

Christ and Satan, an Old English poem of 733 lines found in the Junius manuscript. It has been suggested that the work dates from 790–830 and is of Anglian origin. The subjects of the three sections are: Satan's lament for his fall; the Harrowing of Hell; and the temptation of Christ by Satan.
