Bradley, Dr Henry

Bradley, Dr Henry (1845–1923), philologist, is principally remembered for his work on the Oxford English Dictionary with which he was associated for 40 years, from 1884. He became second editor in 1887 and succeeded James Murray as senior editor on Murray's death in 1915. Among Bradley's works may be mentioned the successful The Making of English (1904, rev. 1968).
