Copyright
Blixen, Karen Christentze, née Dinesen (1885–1962), Danish writer, who wrote mainly in English, under the name of ‘Isak Dinesen’. Her first major publication,
Seven Gothic Tales (1934), was followed by several other collections which won her a considerable international reputation.
Out of Africa (1937) is the story of her years in Kenya where she and her husband ran a coffee plantation.
