Mécano

Mécano. A review founded by van Doesburg in Leiden in 1922 and edited by him under the pseudonym I. K. Bonset; it ran to four numbers, 1922–3. Van Doesburg was at this time interested in Dada, and the contributors included leaders of the movement such as Arp, Hausmann, Picabia, and Schwitters, who made fun of the Bauhaus for its solemn sense of dedication. In this review van Doesburg also attempted to extend the principles of Constructivism to poetry.
