Olaf II, St

Olaf II, St (or Olaf Haraldsson) (c.995–1028) King of Norway (1015–28). He was converted to Christianity and continued the work of conversion begun by OLAF I but his attempts at reform provoked rebellion and he was killed in a battle with rebel and Danish forces. Canonized as a saint, he is honoured as Norway's national hero.
