Menon, (Vengalil Krishnan) Krishna (1896–1974) Indian politician. A prominent spokesman in Britain for the Indian nationalist cause, he served as India's High Commissioner in London (1947–52) as well as India's representative at the United Nations. As Minister of Defence (1957–62) he was heavily criticized for his autocratic decisions and for the defeat in the
INDO-CHINESE WAR of 1962, and he was forced to resign.
