Canaanites

Canaanites The inhabitants of ancient Palestine, but more specifically the land lying between the River Jordan and the Mediterranean. The Canaanites occupied the area in the 3rd millenium BC but it was conquered and occupied during the latter part of the 2nd millenium BC by the Israelites who described it as their ‘Promised Land’ (Exodus 3:8).
