Toulouse, battle of, 1814. On 10 April 1814
Wellington launched an assault against the city, losing 5,000 men. However, after fierce fighting, Marshal Soult and the French were driven out with the loss of 3,000 men. The victory came hours before Napoleon's abdication in Paris.
