Inverurie, battle of, 1308. A decisive victory of Robert I, king of Scots, over John
Comyn, earl of Buchan, probably on 23 May. After his escape at
Slioch, Robert was able to capture strong points on the coastal plain of Moray and in the Black Isle before returning to Buchan, where, near Inverurie, he routed the earl's forces. The battle gave Robert control of the north.
