lychee (litchi) The fruit of Litchi chinensis, native to China; the size of a small plum, with a hard case and translucent, white, jelly‐like sweet flesh surrounding the seed. A 100‐g portion is a rich source of vitamin C, and supplies 70 kcal (290 kJ).
