BACK SLANG. A form of slang used especially in Britain, in which words are spoken or spelt backwards: yob boy (originally to disguise the word, now used to mean a ‘backward’ boy or lout); ecilop police, often modified to slop (The slops are after you). See COCKNEY, PRIVATE LANGUAGE, REVERSAL, SHELTA.
