Liberty Hall

The Oxford Companion to Irish History | 2007 | 367 words | Copyright

Liberty Hall, on Eden Quay, Dublin, headquarters of the Irish Transport and General Workers' Union. The original building, formerly a hotel and offices, was acquired in 1912. Though seriously damaged in the rising of 1916, it remained in use until 1956. It was demolished in 1958 and replaced by the present 17‐storey glass and steel building, opened in 1965.
