Yemanzhelinsk

Yemanzhelinsk, Chelyabinsk/Russia Developed from a fortress built in 1747 with a name derived from the Yemanzhelinka River. This comes from the Tatar yaman ‘bad’ and yelga ‘river’, probably a reference to the unpotable nature of the water.
