Ust'‐Kamenogorsk

Ust'‐Kamenogorsk (Öskemen), Kazakhstan Ust′‐Kamennaya Founded by the Russians as a fortress in 1720 and named after the fact that it was located at the mouth (in Russian, ust′ye) of the Kamennaya River—its junction with the Irtysh River. The Kamennaya's name comes from the Russian kamen′ ‘stone’ or ‘rock’ while the gorsk is associated with gorod.
