Kosovska Mitrovica (Albanian: Mitrovicë), Serbia/Serbia and MontenegroDimitrovica, Mitrovica, Titova Mitrovica Developed round the church of the warrior saint St Demetrius after whom the town is named. In 1948
Titova ‘Tito's’ was added to the name in honour of Josip Broz Tito
†. It was dropped in 1992 and replaced by
Kosovska to denote its location in Kosovo and to distinguish it from
Sremska Mitrovica in the Srem region of Serbia.
