Eretz Yisra'el

Eretz Yisra'el ‘Land of Israel’ in Hebrew, the land promised to the Jewish patriarch, Abraham. It referred to the land governed by the British during their mandate in 1922–48, the biblical land of Israel of which the heartland was the West Bank. See Palestine and West Bank.
