Drvar, Bosnia and Herzegovina Titov Drvar Derived from the Serbo‐Croat drva ‘firewood’, a reference to the locals chopping trees to make logs for use in the bitter winters. After the Second World War each of the Yugoslav republics named a town in honour of Josip Broz Tito. Thus Drvar gained the additional Titov ‘Tito's’. It was dropped after Bosnia and Herzegovina became independent in 1992.
