Ağri

Ağri, Turkey Karaköşe Named after Mount Ararat (in Turkish, Ağri Daği ‘Sad, or painful, Mountain’, from ağri ‘pain’ and dağ ‘mountain’), not far to the east. It is still sometimes called Karaköse, which literally means ‘Black Corner’ which may be interpreted as a ‘little dark, out of the way, place’. It lies in a rather bleak region.
