Aphrodisias, Turkey Ninoe, Aphrodite, Caria, Geyre Ruins dedicated to the ancient Greek goddess of love, Aphrodite. Ninoe was the Carian name for the goddess and Caria, after the Carians, was in vogue by the 14th century. Caria became the Turkish Geyre which is now the name of a nearby village.
