Noort, Adam van

Noort, Adam van (b Antwerp, 1562; d Antwerp, ?Sept. 1641). Flemish history and portrait painter, remembered chiefly as one of the teachers of Rubens. Too little is known of the style of either man at the time to estimate what influence he may have had. Another famous pupil was Jordaens, who became van Noort's son-in-law in 1616.
