Mainardi, Sebastiano (b San Gimignano, 23 Sept. 1466; d ?Florence, Sept. 1513). Florentine painter, a pupil or assistant of Domenico Ghirlandaio, whose half-sister he married in 1494, a few months after Domenico's death. His name has often been indiscriminately attached to school pieces from the Ghirlandaio workshop (with which he continued his association after Domenico's death), but little is known for certain of his work.
