relationship-motivated (person-oriented) Describing a leadership style that is concerned with maintaining positive relationships within the group, removing causes of friction, and lifting morale. A relationship-motivated leader will demonstrate trust of subordinates, respect for their ideas, and consideration for their feelings. Compare task-motivated.
