biodata In personnel selection, items of biographical information about the candidates for a job that can be objectively assessed, e.g. qualifications, years of experience, positions of responsibility, etc. Each candidate is scored on the answers given and those whose total scores fall below a certain level are eliminated. This can be an effective way of selecting a short list. See standard application blank.
