Parsloe, Charles Thomas, Jr.

Parsloe, Charles Thomas, Jr. (1836–98), actor. The son of a famous actor and theatrical agent, he was born in New York and began his theatrical career as a call boy at Burton's, then later performed juvenile parts at Wallack's and elsewhere. Parsloe's small build and youthful countenance allowed him to continue in such roles well into middle age, although he also became known for his Chinese portrayals. Among the roles he created or became well known for were Bermudas in Under the Gaslight (1867), Wishee‐Washee in The Danites (1877), the title part in Ah Sin (1877), and Wing Lee in My Partner (1879).
