Manhattan Punch Line

The Oxford Companion to American Theatre | 2004 | | © The Oxford Companion to American Theatre 2004, originally published by Oxford University Press 2004. (Hide copyright information) Copyright

Manhattan Punch Line (New York). Dedicated to producing new comedies, the Off‐Off‐Broadway company was founded in 1979 by Mitch McGuire, Faith Caitlan, and Steve Kaplan. In addition to producing plays, the group held a Comedy Institute on occasion and presented a festival of short new comedies for several seasons. The company disbanded in 1992.
