synovial fluid

synovial fluid Viscous, colourless fluid that lubricates the movable joints between bones. It is secreted by the synovial membrane. Synovial fluid is also found in the bursae, membranous sacs that help to reduce friction in major joints such as the shoulder, hip or knee.
