humidity

World Encyclopedia | 2005 | Copyright

humidity (relative humidity) Measure of the amount of water vapour in air. It is the ratio of the actual vapour pressure to the saturation vapour pressure at which water normally condenses, and is usually expressed as a percentage. Humidity is measured by a hygrometer.
