Sobers, Sir Gary

Sobers, Sir Gary ( Garfield St Aubrun) (1936– ) Barbadian cricketer, perhaps the game's greatest all-rounder. Sobers played 93 test matches for West Indies (39 as captain), scoring 8032 runs and taking 235 wickets. He played county cricket for Nottinghamshire and, against Glamorgan (1968), became the first player to score six sixes in an over in first-class cricket.
