Mesozoic
Mesozoic Third era of
geological time, extending from
c.248 to
c.65 million years ago. It divides into three periods: the
Triassic,
Jurassic, and
Cretaceous. For most of the era, the continents are believed to have been joined into one huge landmass called
Pangaea. The period was also characterized by the variety and size of its reptiles.
