Hoffa, Jimmy
Hoffa, Jimmy ( James Riddle) (1913–?75) US trade union leader, president of the International Brotherhood of Teamsters (1957–71). In 1967, he was imprisoned for jury tampering, mail fraud, and mishandling of union funds. In 1971, President Richard
Nixon commuted his sentence. In 1975, Hoffa disappeared and is presumed dead.
