Graham, Thomas (1805–69) Scottish chemist, best remembered for Graham's law, which states that the diffusion rate of a gas is inversely proportional to the square root of its density. This law is used in separating isotopes by the diffusion method and has industrial applications. He also discovered
dialysis.
