Ghats
Ghats Two mountain systems in India running parallel to the coast on both sides of the Deccan Plateau. The Western Ghats extend from the Tapti River to Cape Comorin. The Eastern Ghats extend from the Mahanadi River to the Nilgiri Hills. Height: (w) 900–1500m (2950–4920ft); (e) 600m (1970ft). Length: (w) 1600km (1000mi); (e) 1400km (875mi).
