Eskola, Pentii Elias (1883–1964) A Finnish geologist and mineralogist, Eskola was a professor at the University of Helsinki from 1928 to 1953. His major work was a study of the origin of metamorphic rocks; he developed a classification of metamorphic facies, based on typical minerals.
