Bouguer correction

Bouguer correction The correction applied to a measurement of gravitational acceleration, which allows for the attraction of rock between the observing station and some reference height, usually sea level. The correction is 0.4185 ρh, where ρ is the density of the rock in kg/m3 and h is the difference in height between the two points in metres.
