O. D. Skelton died. He regularly attended the Canadian cabinet's war committee and advised on Canadian policy towards the UK and USA; had a hand in the
Hyde Park agreement; ensured that Canada had some voice in controlling the Allied war effort; and played a forceful role in the
San Francisco conference.
