Nowak, Jan

Nowak, Jan (b.1913),pseudonym of Zdzisław Jeziorański, a courier for the Polish Home Army. As Jan Karski had before him, he took to London evidence of the Final Solution, and was the first emissary to arrive after the Warsaw ghetto rising which started in April 1943. From then until the end of the war he travelled to London and Stockholm five times to contact the UK government and the Polish government-in-exile, and he took part in the Warsaw rising of August 1944.
